Fish Farms suing prominent aquaculture opponent
Mainstream Canada (fish farms) suing prominent aquaculture opponent
A note from our good friend Jeff Vermillion at Sweetwater Travel;
For 4 Days we’ll match any funds donated to $10,000!
Fish farm company, Mainstream Canada is suing prominent aquaculture opponent for defamation. Mainstream Canada alleges that Don has damaged its brand by comparing the open pen salmon aquaculture industry to tobacco companies.
As fishermen and lodge owners we fully appreciate the hard work countless individuals have put into conserving wild Pacific salmon; Don Staniford is one of those heroes. Together with 20,000 others we believe wild salmon migration corridors for Canadian, Alaskan and Lower 48 salmon are no place for farmed salmon feedlots; they place wild populations of salmon and wild places at undue risk to parasites, viruses, pollution and escaped salmon. It is particularly senseless to harvest our oceans so we can feed fish fish to make less fish. Yup that part sounds as silly as it is. It is time for all fishermen to stand up for wild salmon while we can.
Lower Dean River Lodge, Suskeena Lodge, Steelhead Valhalla Lodge and Sweetwater Travel have agreed to equally match all donations up to $10,000 total to help fund Don Staniford’s lawsuit against Mainstream Canada in next 4 days from any recreational sportfishing lodge, fishermen or just those that care about salmon.
Now is the time to get out your wallets and stand together for salmon. Please click here to make your donation now!
Thanks to everyone for all that you do.
